Ever heard about Data Governance !!!!!!

According to the forecasts of the World Economic Forum, in 2020 data analysts will be in high demand in companies around the world. ... This is further confirmed by IBM, which claims that the annual demand for data scientists, data developers and data engineers will lead to 700,000 new recruitments by 2020.

If you work in the field of Data, there will be so many words that will be thrown at you and undoubtedly, they will confuse you. Happened to me as well. Last year one of my objective was to explore Data Governance and Meta Data Management. A year later, I cannot say for sure I understand them completely

Simple definitions but useful and key to Data Governance.
  1. Metadata management - Metadata management is the administration of data that describes other data.
  2. Data Glossary - A data dictionary defines data elements, their meanings, and their allowable values.
  3. Data Quality - Data quality is crucial –It ensures that Data captured is of good quality. It assesses whether   information can serve its purpose in a particular context (such as data analysis, for example).
  4. Security -Data Governance is a fundamental part of security. It ensures that the right people have the right access.
  5. Information Lifecycle Management- ILM is a best practice for managing data throughout its lifecycle.
If anyone happened to read this, please do share your opinion on Data Governance. Like I say any comment /feedback will help me get better at blogging.

Ciao. Signing off for now. 😊
